In the relaunch episode of The Purple Line Podcast, Keith Fernandez sits down with CHLI President & CEO, Mary Ann Gomez Orta, to discuss her experience and background from corporate America to the non-profit world. Mary Ann Gomez Orta is the President & CEO of CHLI. She is a former corporate marketing executive with Coors Brewing Company and McDonald’s Corporation, a national alliance development consultant with the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, and a Hispanic accounts business development executive with public relations firms. Mary Ann has served on local, regional, and national non-profit boards focused on education, small business, and health since graduating from college. Currently, she serves as a Board of Trustee at St. Mary's College of California and on the boards of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, American Latino Veterans Association and is a national advisor for Hispanas Organized for Political Equality. Mrs. Orta is a teacher at heart. She has taught at American University, University of Phoenix, and Heald College. She has completed leadership and coaching programs by the John Maxwell Leadership, Accomplishment Coaching, Center for Creative Leadership and The Emily Post Institute. In addition, she earned a B.A. in Communications at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and an M.B.A. at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California. Keith Fernandez currently serves as the President of the CHLI Alumni Association and host of The Purple Line Podcast. He is a graduate of Florida International University and holds a J.D. from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.
